Due to self-isolation or being stuck abroad my home is unoccupied, will this affect my home insurance?

For Policy Expert Home Select, Policy Expert Home Essentials, AXA, Midas and UK General customers:

You’ll need to notify us if your property is unoccupied for longer than 30 days.

For Policy Expert Home Plus and Policy Expert Home Premier customers:

You’ll need to notify us if your property is unoccupied for longer than 45 days.

 If your property will be unoccupied for longer than the period that your policy covers, our unoccupancy terms would usually apply. Please refer to your policy wording for further details.

We appreciate that due to COVID-19, there may be occasion for unoccupancy to be longer than usual. If you anticipate your property being unoccupied for longer than the time periods detailed above, please contact us by emailing ask@policyexpert.co.uk.
