A pre-existing condition is any illness, injury or symptom your pet has had before your policy started. This includes anything your pet has been treated for, received medication for, or where you’ve had advice from a vet, as well as anything noted in their medical history.
It’s important to declare any pre-existing conditions when taking out a policy, as this helps make sure your cover is set up correctly.
We don’t cover pre-existing conditions for new customers. However, once your pet is insured with us, we only offer lifetime cover. This means that if a condition develops during your policy and you continue to renew with us, it will remain covered going forward. If you need to make a claim on a pre-existing condition, you will still have to pay an excess and any agreed co-payment.
